After leaving a career as an engineer behind to study Jewelry Design in New York City, founder Flora Jin creates sentimental jewelry that is crafted with traditional silversmithing techniques and high quality materials. Drawing inspiration from all things folk art and romance, Flora Sycee makes modern jewelry that can be cherished as future heirlooms.

Our jewelry is made from 100% recycled sterling silver, a hypoallergenic, nickel-free metal that has been used in jewelry for many centuries.

Inspired by metal’s infinite capacity for renewal, Flora Sycee strives to be sustainable in all areas of our existence. The metal scraps from our production process are recycled into new pieces and stones are chosen intentionally with the goal of limiting our carbon footprint. Textiles used in jewelry are natural and biodegradable.

The project was founded in 2023. Each piece is fabricated by hand in New York City.

Care

After testing various methods for storing silver jewelry, we've had the best results storing clean, dry jewelry in a simple airtight plastic bag. To clean jewelry, use the complimentary microfiber cloth provided with your order for regular maintenance. To reach any nooks, use an old, soft-bristled toothbrush with gentle soap and water.

Some pieces feature delicate components such as ear wires and ear posts. We recommend you keep pieces in our accompanying pouch and box when not wearing them for protection. We recommend avoiding putting pieces into pockets on clothes or under other objects.

Cleaning

Tarnish is a natural process that can be expected of sterling silver jewelry when left unworn and exposed to moisture in the air over a long period of time. While we encourage tarnish prevention through following our care and storage instructions, tarnish can be easily cleaned off. We recommend using a gentle silver polishing cream, such as Wright's Polishing Cream.

To use Wright's Polishing Cream, apply a small amount on a microfiber cloth and wipe across all affected areas on sterling silver parts only. Take care to avoid gemstones and textile parts of the piece. Any residual cream left on the piece can be dissolved in hot water at a temperature under 205°F (just under boiling). If the piece has gemstones, we suggest gradually warming the piece before placing it in hot water, or using warm water instead to avoid fracturing the gemstone due to shock.
